The Baguès Company was founded in 1840 by Mr. Noel Baguès who started to cast liturgical bronzes. In 1880, Eugene Bagues joined his father in business and started to develop lighting items.
In the years between the two world wars, gransons Victor and Robert expanded the business with many highly sophisticated bronze and iron items.
In the intervening years, the Bagues Company has become world famous for it's high quality lighting fixtures and wall sconces. It is particularly well known for it's fabulous bird brackets-charming crystal birds, with vine like arms and leaf decorations.
In the 1990's the company has been taken over by a new family, Souriau. The Souriaus now have a workshop in the east of Paris-V iaduc des Arts- which is an area specialized in high qualiy crafts.
